Over the past 20 years, the strong financial support of individual donors has enabled The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County to become the largest community-based palliative care facility in Canada and an innovative leader in the area of supportive Hospice care.

Our shared accomplishments include:

  • Providing comfort and support to well over 30,000 people facing life threatening illnesses and their families in homes, hospital rooms and long-term care facilities.
  • Building the first ever Hospice Village in Canada where an entire range of compassionate care and free services are offered to patients, families and caregivers from pre-diagnosis through to wellness and the end-of-life on one site.

You will receive a charitable tax receipt for income tax purposes on donations of $10 or more. Please ensure that your name, address and phone number are included on the cheque so that we can send you a tax receipt.

Memorials

Memorial donations are a meaningful way to pay tribute to a relative, friend or colleague. Please provide us with the name of the person who has died and the address of the family member or friend. We will send a memorial letter on your behalf for the donation made in memory of the loved one.

Planned or Corporate Giving

For many individuals, families and companies, a planned gift illustrates their appreciation and commitment to the care Hospice provides in our community and their desire to provide stability and continuity to the organization.

Planned giving often provides significant financial benefits to the donor. These benefits include substantial tax deductions and income to donors or their loved ones, as well as other benefits available depending on a donor's circumstances and objectives. Some examples of planned giving options include: donating part of your assets, for example, stocks, bonds, or mutual funds; naming the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, Inc. as a beneficiary of your retirement funds, RRSP, RRIF or pension and naming the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, Inc. as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy.
