Celebration Marks the Opening of Residential Homes at Canada's First Hospice Village
WINDSOR, April 16, 2006 - A marching band, powerful guest speakers and the songs of a gospel choir filled the air at the opening ceremonies for new residential homes by the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. It was a day to celebrate the achievement of the many vision-filled and committed people who helped support and build two beautiful new residential homes at the first Hospice Village In Canada. Many thanks to everyone who helped make this community dream come true and participated in this spirit-filled event!
“It's All About You Luncheon” Supports Hospice of Windsor and Essex County
WINDSOR, April 24, 2007 - Over seven hundred community supporters of Hospice joined together for an afternoon filled with inspirational life stories, music and fashion at the third annual "It's all about you! Luncheon" for the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County.Event speakers Libby Znaimer, veteran writer with the The National Post and author of "The Lump", a popular series on breast cancer and Jackie Savi-Cannon of JSC Management told the audience powerful stories about the opportunities and challenges they have experienced once diagnosed with breast cancer.
Guests were also treated to a fashion show sponsored by Anne's on the Avenue with models including: cancer survivors, hospice staff and volunteers.
